How to read these figures

A global view, not a promise of a particular result.

These figures describe the professional coaching field as a whole. They do not measure the outcome of any single coaching relationship, and they do not replace the thoughtful work of finding support that feels right for your needs.

For people considering coaching, the credential data is a useful reminder to ask about a coach's training, experience, approach, and scope of practice. For writers and researchers, the figures offer a current starting point for describing the field accurately.

Methodology and sources

Where the numbers come from.

All six figures above come from the International Coaching Federation's 2025 Global Coaching Study, conducted with PricewaterhouseCoopers. The study surveyed 14,591 coach practitioners across 157 countries between May and August 2025.

The practitioner and revenue growth figures compare the 2025 study with the federation's 2023 Global Coaching Study. This page is reviewed regularly and will be updated when the federation publishes a newer global benchmark.
